Occurences in the "Reichskristallnacht"

In the " Reichskristallnacht " SA-members from Cochem helped their party-companions in their devastating activity, because they had no connection to the jews in Kaisersesch and so they could do their job more unscrupulous. After the same principle the synagogue in Mayen was burnt down by foreign SA-members, while the SA-members from Mayen were up to one's tricks in other towns. In that night pretendedly just the house of prayers should have been damaged, but that is not the total truth. Some families were harassed, insulted and beaten. Eye-witnesses confirm, that the SA entered the house of the family Schmitz, devastated the flat and beat the family members.

On the next morning all jews were brought to the old gym for an examination of the happenings. Records of the examination, which could describe the happenings in that night, are no more present.

Who did not emigrate until that night had been a victim of the holocaust after many humiliations .
